PROJECT ENGINEER (ELECTRICAL)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 12–15 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering within the construction industry.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale retail, commercial, healthcare, residential, and mixed-use construction projects.
• Extensive hands-on experience with power distribution systems, lighting systems, low-voltage systems, fire alarm systems, security systems, and electrical building services.
• Strong knowledge of electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, MEP specifications, and construction documentation.
• Proficient in project planning and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent software.
• Familiar with construction management ERP systems and digital project management platforms.
• Solid understanding of construction contracts, quality standards, the Saudi Building Code (SBC), and the Saudi Electrical Code.
• Experience in electrical testing, commissioning, quality control, and project handover procedures.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred; PMP certification is an advantage.
• Proficient in English (written and spoken); Arabic language skills are an advantage.
• Strong leadership, technical problem-solving, communication, organizational, and risk management skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate electrical engineering activities involving power distribution, lighting, low-voltage systems, fire alarm systems, security systems, data/communication networks, and other electrical installations for large-scale retail, commercial, healthcare, residential, and mixed-use projects.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and technical documents to ensure accurate implementation and compliance with project requirements.
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments, work plans, and technical documentation for electrical installation activities.
• Monitor and inspect electrical works to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, the Saudi Building Code (SBC), and the Saudi Electrical Code.
• Coordinate with civil, architectural, mechanical engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
• Prepare and maintain daily progress reports, material logs, technical documentation, and project updates for management and clients.
• Conduct site measurements, equipment verification, cable scheduling, and material reconciliation to support procurement, cost control, and project planning.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, design discrepancies, and installation challenges in coordination with consultants and project management.
• Review and support the preparation of shop drawings, equipment submittals, test certificates, operation and maintenance manuals, and as-built documentation.
• Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations while promoting safe electrical work practices throughout project execution.
• Participate in project meetings, site inspections, and coordination sessions with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Assist in planning and scheduling electrical installation activities using Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar project management software.
• Supervise testing, commissioning, insulation testing, load testing, system integration, snagging, final inspections, and handover of electrical systems to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance.
