Electrical Technician
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience as an Electrical Technician, preferably in a food production or manufacturing environment.
- Candidates must possess a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
- A Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, PLCs, automation equipment, and production machinery.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and maintaining VFD drives, converters, HMIs, AC/DC motors, servo motors, and servo drives.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams, wiring schematics, and technical documentation.
- Excellent fault-finding, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills.
- Strong attention to safety, quality, and preventive maintenance practices.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment used in food production and processing facilities.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, including extruders, fryers, seasoning systems, distribution systems, dryers, conveyors, mixers, ovens, and packaging machinery.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems for utility equipment such as boilers, chillers, and air compressors.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults to minimize equipment downtime and maintain continuous production.
- Troubleshoot and maintain Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), converters, Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), AC/DC motors, servo motors, and servo drives.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, wiring layouts, and technical manuals.
- Replace and repair electrical components, control panels, wiring, sensors, switches, relays, breakers, and other electrical devices.
- Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting PLC-controlled systems and industrial automation equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, repair logs, and equipment documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, electrical codes, and workplace health and safety standards.
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to support efficient plant operations.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or management.
