Kirimana Consultants Limited is seeking experienced Duct Installers / Metal Fitters to join its construction team in New Zealand. The successful candidates will be responsible for the fabrication, installation, assembly, and maintenance of HVAC ducting systems and sheet metal components for heavy commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects while ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and workplace safety regulations.

Duct Installer / Metal Fitter

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience as a Duct Installer, Metal Fitter, or in a related sheet metal fabrication role.
• Proven experience working on heavy commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, duct layouts, and engineering specifications.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC duct installation, sheet metal fabrication, and ventilation systems.
• Skilled in using sheet metal fabrication tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
• Physically fit and willing to work in demanding construction and industrial environments.

Responsibilities:

• Install, assemble, and secure HVAC ductwork, ventilation systems, and sheet metal components according to project drawings and specifications.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, duct layouts, and fabrication details.
• Measure, cut, bend, fabricate, and fit sheet metal materials using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
• Install duct supports, hangers, dampers, diffusers, grilles, insulation, and related HVAC components.
• Perform modifications, repairs, and maintenance on existing ducting and ventilation systems.
• Seal duct joints and connections to ensure proper airflow and system efficiency.
• Inspect completed installations to verify alignment, fit, and compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, HVAC technicians, and other construction trades to ensure timely project completion.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Identify and report installation issues, material shortages, or site concerns to supervisors.
• Comply with workplace health and safety regulations, company procedures, and project requirements.
• Perform other duct installation, sheet metal, and metal fitting duties assigned by management.
