JEWELER
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience is required.
- At least a High School Graduate.
- Proven professional experience as a Jeweler, Goldsmith, or Jewelry Repair Artisan.
- Extensive experience in fine jewelry repair, restoration, and alteration.
- Strong practical knowledge of precious metals, particularly gold and silver.
- Strong skills in soldering, assembly, resizing, and precision repair.
- Strong understanding of jewelry construction, fabrication, repair, and finishing.
- Ability to work safely and accurately on high-value and client-owned jewelry pieces.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow technical repair instructions and specifications.
- Proven experience in laser cutting and engraving.
- Experience preparing vector files for laser cutting and engraving.
- Ability to operate laser cutting and engraving machines and adjust machine parameters for gold and silver.
- Experience in jewelry casting, including model preparation, 3D printing preparation, spruing, and investment casting.
- Knowledge of identifying and resolving common jewelry casting defects.
- Experience executing custom jewelry design concepts into finished pieces.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with workshop technicians and other jewelry professionals.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and precision when working with intricate jewelry.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to handle delicate materials and high-value jewelry responsibly.
- Ability to work independently while following workshop procedures and production requirements.
- Relevant jewelry-making, goldsmithing, casting, CAD, laser technology, or technical training is an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Perform professional repair, restoration, alteration, and finishing of fine jewelry.
- Work carefully and responsibly with high-value and client-owned jewelry pieces.
- Handle gold, silver, and other precious metals using appropriate jewelry-making and repair techniques.
- Perform precision soldering, assembly, resizing, and repair of jewelry components.
- Inspect jewelry to identify structural, functional, and cosmetic defects before and after repair.
- Read, understand, and follow technical repair instructions, specifications, drawings, and work orders.
- Maintain the original design, proportions, structure, and appearance of jewelry during repair and restoration.
- Disassemble and reassemble jewelry components carefully and accurately.
- Perform ring resizing and other jewelry alterations while maintaining proper shape and finish.
- Execute fine jewelry repairs and restoration according to required quality standards.
- Perform laser cutting and engraving on gold, silver, and other suitable precious-metal materials.
- Prepare and adjust vector files for laser cutting and engraving applications.
- Operate laser cutting and engraving machines safely and accurately.
- Adjust machine settings and parameters according to material type, thickness, design, and required results.
- Inspect laser-cut and engraved pieces for accuracy, quality, alignment, and surface finish.
- Prepare jewelry models and components for 3D printing and casting.
- Perform jewelry model preparation, spruing, investment casting, and related casting processes.
- Inspect cast jewelry components and identify casting defects such as porosity, incomplete filling, cracks, or surface imperfections.
- Troubleshoot and correct casting-related problems to achieve acceptable finished products.
- Execute custom jewelry design concepts and transform them into finished jewelry pieces.
- Coordinate closely with workshop technicians and other jewelry professionals during custom design production.
- Use jewelry-making tools, precision equipment, measuring instruments, and specialized machinery safely and correctly.
- Perform finishing and polishing work as required to achieve the desired appearance and quality.
- Maintain accurate work practices when handling small, intricate, and high-value jewelry components.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jewelry workshop.
- Properly maintain and care for jewelry tools, machinery, laser equipment, and other workshop equipment.
- Minimize material waste while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.
- Perform other jewelry manufacturing, repair, casting, engraving, and workshop duties assigned by management.
