Machine Operator (Clothing and Textile)
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Machine Operator, Sewing Machine Operator, Garment Worker, Textile Machine Operator, or similar position.
- Experience in a clothing, garment, textile, apparel, or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial sewing machines and other garment-production machinery.
- Ability to operate and monitor machines safely and efficiently.
- Basic knowledge of machine setup, adjustment, cleaning, lubrication, and routine maintenance.
- Ability to identify basic machine problems and report technical issues promptly.
- Good understanding of fabric handling, stitching, seams, garment construction, and production processes.
- Ability to follow patterns, measurements, technical instructions, and production specifications accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Physically fit and capable of standing and performing repetitive machine-operating tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to meet production targets while maintaining required quality standards.
- Good teamwork, communication, discipline, and time-management skills.
- Reliable, hardworking, adaptable, and willing to follow company rules and production procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Operate industrial sewing, garment, and textile production machines safely and efficiently.
- Set up and prepare machines according to the type of garment, fabric, and production requirements.
- Load and position fabric, thread, and other materials correctly before production.
- Operate sewing machines and other assigned clothing and textile machinery according to established procedures.
- Monitor machines during operation to ensure consistent production and proper machine performance.
- Adjust machine settings, tension, speed, guides, needles, and other basic controls as required.
- Perform sewing and textile operations according to approved patterns, measurements, designs, and specifications.
- Ensure proper stitching, seams, alignment, dimensions, and overall workmanship of finished garments.
- Inspect fabric and finished products for defects, damage, incorrect stitching, loose threads, or other quality issues.
- Identify machine malfunctions and report technical problems to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
- Perform basic cleaning, lubrication, and routine maintenance of assigned machines.
- Replace needles, threads, bobbins, and other basic machine components when necessary.
- Keep machines, tools, workstations, and production areas clean and organized.
- Follow production schedules and meet daily output requirements.
- Handle fabrics and garments carefully to prevent damage, stains, or unnecessary material waste.
- Sort, prepare, and organize materials according to production orders.
- Follow approved patterns, templates, work instructions, and production specifications.
- Coordinate with cutters, tailors, sewing operators, quality-control personnel, and supervisors.
- Maintain consistent production quality while working at the required production pace.
- Record production quantities, rejected items, machine problems, and other required information.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures when operating industrial machinery.
- Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe machine-operating practices.
- Minimize material waste through proper handling and accurate machine operation.
- Assist with other garment and textile production activities as assigned by management.
