Qualifications:

  • At least a High School Graduate.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in lumber production, timber processing, logging, forestry, or a similar field.
  • Knowledge of cutting, trimming, debarking, sorting, stacking, and handling timber and logs.
  • Experience operating chainsaws, logging tools, and other forestry equipment is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with timber preparation, wood grading, and basic wood quality inspection.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual labor, standing for extended periods, and lifting or handling heavy materials.
  • Willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Able to follow instructions and comply with workplace safety procedures and environmental regulations.
  • Responsible, hardworking, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • Willing to learn and follow proper procedures for operating forestry tools and machinery.

Responsibilities:

  • Cut, trim, and process timber and logs according to production requirements.
  • Operate and handle chainsaws, logging tools, and other forestry equipment safely and properly.
  • Remove branches, debark logs, and prepare timber for storage, transportation, or further processing.
  • Sort, classify, and stack lumber according to size, type, and quality.
  • Assist in loading, unloading, and transporting logs, timber, and other wood materials.
  • Inspect wood for defects, damage, and other quality concerns.
  • Maintain and clean tools, machinery, equipment, and assigned work areas.
  • Follow proper procedures for handling and storing timber and lumber materials.
  • Observe workplace safety standards and environmental regulations during all forestry and lumber operations.
  • Report equipment problems, unsafe working conditions, or production concerns to the supervisor.
  • Assist other workers with general lumber processing and forestry-related tasks as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
