Customer Clearance Manager
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Transport, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in import management and customs clearance operations.
- In-depth knowledge of local and international customs regulations and procedures.
- Proven experience in managing budgets, operational costs, and service contracts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Detail-oriented and capable of handling documentation accurately.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and import/export management software.
- Ability to coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the entire import process from documentation to final delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all local and international customs regulations and standards.
- Prepare and manage import documentation including bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers.
- Handle customs clearance issues promptly and efficiently to avoid delays.
- Maintain updated knowledge of customs regulations, tariffs, and import procedures.
- Negotiate contracts, rates, and service agreements to ensure operational cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal departments to streamline import operations and reduce lead times.
- Monitor and report import activities, performance metrics, and KPIs.
- Ensure accuracy of all customs-related entries, records, and documentation.
