Generator Operator Mechanic

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience as a Generator Operator, Generator Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or similar role is preferred.
• At least a High School Graduate, Vocational Graduate, or Technical Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Diesel Technology, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of diesel generator systems, engines, alternators, electrical controls, and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Experience operating and maintaining industrial or construction site generators.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
• Familiarity with generator safety procedures, load testing, and equipment monitoring.
• Skilled in using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
• Physically fit and capable of working in demanding construction and industrial environments.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities:

• Operate diesel generators and power generation equipment to provide reliable electrical power for construction sites and facilities.
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and scheduled servicing of generators and associated electrical systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, fuel, cooling, lubrication, and control system faults.
• Monitor generator performance, operating hours, fuel consumption, oil levels, coolant levels, and overall system efficiency.
• Start up, shut down, and monitor generators following established operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Conduct load testing and performance checks to verify proper generator operation.
• Replace worn or defective parts, filters, belts, batteries, and other generator components as required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and equipment service logs.
• Ensure generators comply with workplace safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Coordinate with supervisors and maintenance personnel to minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of generator rooms, workshops, and maintenance areas.
• Perform emergency repairs and respond promptly to generator breakdowns to restore power supply.
• Carry out other mechanical and maintenance duties assigned by management.
