Workshop Manager
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor’s / College Degree in Business Studies, Administration, Management, Sales & Marketing, or related field
- Proven experience in the automotive industry, preferably in a supervisory or senior technician role
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repair procedures, and manufacturer standards
- Leadership and team management experience
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in workshop management systems and basic computer applications
- Relevant automotive certifications or technical qualifications are an advantage
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and monitor daily workshop activities to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance services.
- Allocate tasks to technicians based on skill level, experience, and workload capacity.
- Ensure efficient utilization of labor hours, tools, equipment, and workshop resources.
- Monitor workflow and adjust schedules to meet service deadlines and operational targets.
- Supervise, mentor, and support technicians and apprentices to improve performance and skill development.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to enhance productivity and service quality.
- Coordinate training programs to keep staff updated on new vehicle technologies and diagnostic systems.
- Foster a positive, safety-focused, and productive workshop environment.
- Ensure all repairs and services meet manufacturer specifications and company quality standards.
- Conduct final inspections where necessary to ensure high-quality output.
- Reduce comebacks and warranty claims through effective quality assurance practices.
- Support service advisors in resolving customer concerns and complaints.
- Ensure accurate repair estimates and clear communication regarding timelines and costs.
- Promote high customer satisfaction and long-term client retention.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
- Control workshop expenses and ensure adherence to budget targets.
- Manage parts usage and coordinate with the parts department to avoid delays.
- Enforce workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and maintain equipment servicing and calibration schedules
