Carpenter Automotive & Transport Limited / Boroko Motors is seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Panel Beater to join its workshop team in Papua New Guinea. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing damaged vehicle body panels and restoring vehicles to manufacturer specifications using appropriate repair techniques, tools, and equipment while ensuring high-quality workmanship.

AUTOMOTIVE PANEL BEATER

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in the automotive industry.
• Previous experience as an Automotive Panel Beater, Body Repair Technician, or similar role is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle body repair techniques, panel replacement, and structural alignment.
• Skilled in using panel repair tools, welding equipment, and measuring instruments.
• Ability to interpret repair manuals and manufacturer specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality repairs.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced automotive workshop environment.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect damaged vehicles and assess body repair requirements.
• Repair, reshape, and replace damaged vehicle body panels, frames, and structural components.
• Remove dents, straighten frames, and align body panels using specialized tools and equipment.
• Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and metal finishing as required.
• Prepare repaired panels for painting by sanding, filling, and smoothing surfaces.
• Read and interpret repair orders, technical manuals, and manufacturer repair procedures.
• Ensure all repairs meet quality standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations.
• Coordinate with automotive painters, estimators, and workshop personnel to ensure efficient workflow.
• Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Complete repair documentation and report any additional damage identified during repairs.
