TECHNICIAN / DUCT INSTALLER
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience.
- At least a High School Graduate.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Must have hands-on experience with galvanized iron (GI) ductwork.
- Experience with pre-insulated PIR duct systems is required.
- Knowledge of duct assembly, installation, insulation, sealing, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read and follow HVAC drawings, duct layouts, measurements, and installation instructions.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and duct installation tools.
- Physically fit and capable of performing installation work in construction environments, including working at heights and in confined areas when required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to proper workmanship.
- Able to identify duct leakage, alignment issues, improper connections, and other installation defects.
- Responsible, hardworking, reliable, and able to follow instructions.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Knowledgeable in basic construction site safety and proper use of PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and install HVAC ductwork systems according to drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Install galvanized iron (GI) ductwork for heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems.
- Install and assemble pre-insulated PIR duct systems and related components.
- Measure, cut, fabricate, and fit duct sections according to required dimensions.
- Install ductwork, fittings, joints, supports, flanges, dampers, and other related components.
- Ensure proper alignment, positioning, and secure installation of ductwork.
- Insulate ductwork using appropriate insulation materials to minimize heat loss or gain.
- Seal duct joints, connections, seams, and openings properly to prevent air leakage.
- Install ductwork in accordance with HVAC layouts, shop drawings, and technical instructions.
- Inspect installed duct systems for proper fit, alignment, sealing, and workmanship.
- Assist with duct pressure and leakage checks when required.
- Identify and correct installation defects, air leaks, loose connections, and other ductwork problems.
- Coordinate with HVAC technicians, electricians, plumbers, supervisors, and other construction personnel.
- Use hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, measuring instruments, and duct fabrication tools safely.
- Handle duct materials, insulation, sealants, fasteners, and other installation materials properly.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and keep tools and work areas clean and organized.
- Follow approved installation procedures, workplace safety requirements, and construction site regulations.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing duct installation work.
- Report damaged materials, installation problems, safety hazards, and technical issues to the supervisor.
- Perform repair, modification, replacement, and maintenance of existing ductwork when required.
- Assist with other HVAC ductwork and construction-related duties assigned by management.
