KBR Services LLC is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Technician (Maintenance of Major Turbo Machinery) to support maintenance operations in oil and gas or fertilizer plant environments in Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, overhaul, and repair of major rotating equipment, ensuring reliable and efficient plant operations.

MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN (Maintenance Of Major Turbo Machinery)

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience as a Mechanical Technician specializing in major turbo machinery maintenance.
• Must have experience working in an Oil & Gas or Fertilizer plant.
• Bachelor’s/College Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Extensive experience maintaining gas turbines, steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, pumps, and other heavy rotating equipment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting, equipment overhaul, precision alignment, and rotating equipment maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and technical documentation.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, and equipment reliability.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.
• Willing to work in Qatar and comply with company and project requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on major turbo machinery, including gas turbines, steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, pumps, and other rotating equipment.
• Conduct equipment inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to identify mechanical faults and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform complete overhauls, dismantling, assembly, alignment, balancing, and commissioning of rotating equipment.
• Ensure proper alignment of shafts, couplings, bearings, seals, and other mechanical components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, equipment manuals, technical specifications, and maintenance procedures.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with maintenance engineers and operations teams during plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and scheduled maintenance activities.
• Prepare maintenance reports, inspection records, and equipment history documentation.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with manufacturer recommendations, company standards, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
• Support root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives for critical rotating equipment.
