KBR Services LLC is seeking an experienced Welder – SMAW & GTAW to support fabrication and maintenance operations in oil and gas or petrochemical plant environments in Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality welding on piping, structural components, and industrial equipment while ensuring compliance with approved welding procedures, project specifications, and safety standards.
WELDER – SMAW & GTAW
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant working experience as a SMAW & GTAW Welder.
- Must have experience working in an Oil & Gas or Petrochemical plant.
- Must possess a valid Welder Qualification Test (WQT) certification for GTAW and SMAW.
- Must be proficient in the 6G welding position.
- No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
- Strong knowledge of welding procedures, welding symbols, fabrication drawings, and industrial welding standards.
- Skilled in using welding equipment, cutting tools, grinders, and related fabrication equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, quality workmanship, and commitment to workplace safety.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Perform welding using Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) processes.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, welding symbols, and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Prepare materials by measuring, cutting, grinding, beveling, and cleaning metal surfaces before welding.
- Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy materials in accordance with project requirements and quality standards.
- Perform welding in various positions, including the 6G welding position, while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Inspect completed welds for defects and ensure compliance with applicable codes and specifications.
- Operate and maintain welding machines, power tools, angle grinders, and cutting equipment safely.
- Coordinate with fabrication teams, fitters, inspectors, and supervisors to ensure timely completion of work.
- Follow company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in quality inspections and rectify welding defects when required.
