Stellar Recruitment (NZ) Limited is seeking experienced and highly skilled Mechanical Designers for deployment to New Zealand. The successful candidate will specialize in the design and coordination of fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems using REVIT and related engineering tools.

MECHANICAL DESIGNER

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in mechanical or fire protection system design.
• Experience with REVIT software is mandatory.
• Strong experience in the design of:
  • Fire Sprinkler Systems
  • Fire Alarm Systems
• Must have actual system design experience, not limited to drafting only.
• Ability to perform hydraulic calculations accurately.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong knowledge of fire protection standards, system layouts, and engineering coordination.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, project specifications, and engineering requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with engineering and project teams.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality engineering output.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems according to project requirements and industry standards.
• Create detailed 3D models, layouts, and technical drawings using REVIT software.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and system analysis to ensure proper fire protection performance.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, and project managers regarding design requirements and technical solutions.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and codes to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
• Prepare technical documentation, drawings, and design revisions for construction and installation purposes.
• Conduct clash detection and system coordination with other MEP services.
• Assist in troubleshooting design issues and provide engineering support during project execution.
• Ensure all designs meet company quality standards, project timelines, and client requirements.
• Maintain organized project records and updated design files throughout all project stages.
