MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Qualifications:

• Must be a Bachelor’s Degree holder in Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Oil & Gas construction.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Experience with mechanical equipment, piping systems, rotating equipment, and related Oil & Gas facilities.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, equipment layouts, specifications, P&IDs, and technical documents.
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to coordinate effectively with engineers, supervisors, contractors, QA/QC personnel, and other project teams.
• Physically fit and capable of working in construction sites and industrial environments.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project schedules and deadlines.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, and engineering standards.
• Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise mechanical construction activities for Oil & Gas projects.
• Review and interpret mechanical engineering drawings, specifications, equipment data sheets, and technical documents.
• Ensure mechanical installations are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Coordinate mechanical construction activities with engineering, procurement, QA/QC, commissioning, and other project teams.
• Supervise the installation, assembly, alignment, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems.
• Monitor the installation of pumps, compressors, valves, piping systems, tanks, vessels, rotating equipment, and other mechanical equipment.
• Review equipment layouts, piping arrangements, equipment specifications, and construction plans.
• Conduct site inspections to verify the progress, quality, and compliance of mechanical works.
• Identify technical issues, construction problems, and potential delays and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Provide technical support and guidance to supervisors, technicians, contractors, and construction personnel.
• Coordinate equipment installation, alignment, leveling, and mechanical completion activities.
• Monitor testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities for mechanical systems.
• Ensure that materials, equipment, and components used in mechanical works comply with approved specifications.
• Coordinate with QA/QC personnel to ensure inspection and testing requirements are completed.
• Assist in resolving technical queries, site issues, non-conformities, and construction discrepancies.
• Review method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), work procedures, and other technical documentation.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to project management.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, progress reports, inspection records, and project documentation.
• Ensure mechanical construction activities comply with applicable engineering codes, standards, company procedures, and project specifications.
• Promote and enforce safe working practices at the project site.
• Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure timely and efficient completion of assigned mechanical works.
• Participate in project meetings, coordination meetings, inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Perform other mechanical engineering and project-related duties as assigned.
