TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE)

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of working experience is required.
• Mandatory: Ceramic manufacturing background.
• Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Others or similar fields.
• Must have hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance of BPS machinery, hydraulic presses, glaze lines, kilns, sorting and packing equipment, and air compressors.
• Strong technical knowledge of ceramic production machines and mechanical services.
• Proven experience in preventive maintenance, machine inspection, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Ability to perform maintenance according to established schedules, checklists, technical procedures, and equipment conditions.
• Practical knowledge of mechanical machine components, spare parts, and maintenance requirements.
• Ability to identify mechanical defects and determine appropriate repair, servicing, or replacement requirements.
• Knowledge of machine modification and mechanical improvements to support production requirements.
• Knowledge of industrial utility systems, including natural gas, water, compressed air, and electrical power.
• Ability to monitor equipment and utility conditions and promptly report abnormalities.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to equipment reliability and production continuity.
• Ability to work effectively with production, maintenance, electrical, and other technical teams.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial ceramic manufacturing environment.
• Responsible, disciplined, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect ceramic production machines and equipment regularly to assess their operating condition.
• Perform dedusting and cleaning of machinery to help maintain proper equipment performance and reliability.
• Monitor machine conditions and identify signs of wear, abnormal operation, leakage, vibration, overheating, or other mechanical problems.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance according to approved maintenance schedules and checklists.
• Conduct routine mechanical inspections and servicing to minimize unexpected machine breakdowns.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and perform appropriate troubleshooting and corrective maintenance.
• Modify machines and mechanical components according to production requirements and approved technical instructions.
• Carry out machine modifications intended to improve production efficiency, equipment performance, and operational reliability.
• Service, repair, replace, and maintain spare parts and machine components based on equipment condition and maintenance schedules.
• Inspect mechanical spare parts and components to determine whether repair, replacement, or servicing is required.
• Maintain and service mechanical assemblies, drives, bearings, shafts, gear systems, conveyors, and other machine components as applicable.
• Perform hands-on mechanical maintenance of BPS machinery and related ceramic production equipment.
• Perform mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of hydraulic presses.
• Maintain and troubleshoot glaze line machinery and equipment.
• Perform mechanical inspection and maintenance of kiln equipment and associated mechanical systems.
• Support maintenance activities for sorting and packing machinery.
• Inspect, service, and maintain air compressors and related mechanical systems.
• Monitor the condition and operation of mechanical equipment throughout production operations.
• Coordinate with production operators to identify machine performance issues and maintenance requirements.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production-related mechanical problems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, checklists, service reports, and equipment histories.
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed according to established schedules, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Monitor and help control essential plant utilities, including natural gas, water, compressed air, and electrical power.
• Check utility systems for abnormal conditions, excessive consumption, leaks, or interruptions and report issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Coordinate with electrical, production, utility, and other maintenance teams when equipment or utility problems affect production.
• Maintain tools, maintenance equipment, and work areas in clean and serviceable condition.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Support continuous improvement activities aimed at reducing equipment downtime and improving machine reliability.
• Perform other mechanical maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting, and production-support duties assigned by management.
