MECHANIC (AGRICULTURAL)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in agricultural machinery maintenance and repair.
- At least a high school graduate.
- Proven experience servicing leading agricultural equipment brands, including John Deere, Massey Ferguson, Case, Ford Series, and Claas.
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electronic controls, electrical systems, and heavy agricultural machinery.
- Proficient in using computerized diagnostic equipment and interpreting technical service manuals.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and hydraulic faults independently.
- Possession of a clean and valid driver’s licence, with the ability to travel for field service assignments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Good English communication skills, both spoken and written.
- IELTS or PTE certification is an advantage.
- Physically fit and capable of working in workshop and outdoor farm environments.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair tractors, harvesters, and heavy agricultural machinery.
- Use computerized diagnostic equipment and specialized testing tools to identify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine faults.
- Disassemble, repair, overhaul, and replace defective components, including engines, transmissions, steering systems, brakes, fuel systems, and driveline assemblies.
- Diagnose and repair complex hydraulic systems, electronic control systems, and diesel engines.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, including oil and filter changes, lubrication, fluid replacement, belt inspection, and routine servicing.
- Carry out workshop-based repairs as well as on-site field service at farms and agricultural facilities.
- Install replacement parts and ensure machinery is restored to manufacturer specifications.
- Test equipment after repairs to verify safe and efficient operation.
- Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance records, inspection logs, and parts inventory documentation.
- Explain repair findings, maintenance recommendations, and preventive maintenance practices to farm operators and customers.
- Ensure workshop tools, service vehicles, and diagnostic equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
- Follow workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations during all maintenance and repair activities.
- Perform other agricultural equipment maintenance duties assigned by management.
