Narseys Plastic Industries Pte Ltd is seeking experienced and skilled Forklift Technicians / Mechanics to join its maintenance team in the Fiji Islands. The successful candidates will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electric, diesel, and LPG forklifts to ensure maximum equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and workplace safety. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, particularly in electric forklift systems and heavy equipment maintenance.

FORKLIFT TECHNICIAN / MECHANIC

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in forklift maintenance, heavy equipment repair, or a related mechanical field.
• Extensive experience servicing electric forklifts is required.
• Vocational Certificate or TESDA certification in Automotive Servicing, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, Mechanical Repair, or a related trade.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and hydraulic troubleshooting.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex battery systems, electrical wiring, controllers, and electronic components.
• Knowledge of tune-ups, transmission repairs, and fuel system diagnostics for diesel and LPG forklifts.
• Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and technical documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently under minimal supervision.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willing to work in the Fiji Islands under the employer’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on electric, diesel, and LPG forklifts.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Repair and maintain electric forklift systems, including traction motors, controllers, chargers, batteries, and electrical wiring.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, and related components.
• Perform tune-ups, transmission repairs, brake servicing, steering system maintenance, and fuel system diagnostics for diesel and LPG forklifts.
• Conduct battery testing, charging system inspections, and maintenance of industrial battery systems.
• Replace defective components and ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and company quality standards.
• Perform routine servicing, lubrication, adjustments, and safety inspections to minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain accurate service records, repair reports, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ensure forklifts comply with workplace safety regulations and operational requirements before returning them to service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop while properly using tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize equipment repairs and minimize production interruptions.
• Perform other maintenance and mechanical duties as assigned by management.
