Motibhai & Company Limited is seeking an experienced and technically skilled Factory/Workshop Supervisor to oversee daily production and workshop activities. The successful candidate will supervise workers, coordinate production schedules, interpret technical drawings and production plans, prepare cutting lists, estimate material requirements and costs, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to required quality standards.
FACTORY/WORKSHOP SUPERVISOR
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Trade certification with relevant experience may also be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a factory, workshop, or manufacturing environment, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and production plans.
- Experience preparing cutting lists and estimating material costs from plans.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office.
- Experience with production or ERP software is an advantage.
- Strong technical, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of production processes, workshop operations, material control, and quality standards.
- Ability to effectively supervise, train, and motivate production and workshop personnel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work according to production schedules and specifications.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures and safe workshop practices.
- Reliable, disciplined, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities in the factory or workshop.
- Plan, organize, and monitor production and workshop activities to meet schedules and targets.
- Assign tasks to workers and ensure manpower is properly allocated according to production requirements.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, production plans, specifications, and work instructions.
- Prepare accurate cutting lists and determine the materials required for production.
- Estimate material quantities and costs based on technical drawings and production plans.
- Monitor the availability and proper use of raw materials, tools, machinery, and workshop equipment.
- Coordinate material requirements with purchasing, stores, and other relevant departments.
- Monitor production processes to ensure products are manufactured according to specifications and quality standards.
- Inspect completed work and identify defects, production issues, or deviations from specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and support to workshop and production personnel.
- Monitor machine and equipment use and report breakdowns or maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and ensure workshop equipment remains safe and operational.
- Implement safe work practices and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety procedures.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure the factory or workshop remains clean and organized.
- Monitor worker productivity, attendance, work quality, and compliance with company procedures.
- Train, coach, and mentor employees to improve technical skills, productivity, and work performance.
- Identify production delays, material wastage, and operational problems and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Maintain production records, material usage reports, work orders, and other relevant documentation.
- Use computer systems and production or ERP software for reporting, planning, and monitoring when required.
- Coordinate with management, engineers, production staff, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist in improving production processes, reducing material waste, controlling costs, and increasing efficiency.
- Perform other factory, workshop, production, and supervisory duties as assigned by management.
