WORKSHOP MANAGER

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid passport.
• Fully vaccinated, as specified in the vacancy.
• Strong organizational, planning, and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage workshop schedules, manpower, materials, and job priorities.
• Good leadership and staff supervision skills.
• Knowledge of workshop operations, job costing, estimates, inventory control, and quality checks.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to coordinate with management, technical personnel, suppliers, and clients.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily workshop operations, including job allocation, scheduling, workflow, and labor allocation.
• Coordinate operational resources, manpower, equipment, and schedules to ensure jobs are completed efficiently.
• Ensure materials, tools, and supplies are ordered and available for each job.
• Assist with quotations, project management, materials purchasing, and quality inspections.
• Ensure job numbers are correctly assigned and employee time records are accurate.
• Review job estimates and monitor costs, work progress, and resource requirements.
• Manage incoming goods, verify quantities, coordinate dispatches, and check invoices and delivery documentation.
• Monitor and report the progress of each job, promptly communicating delays or concerns to the Director of Operations.
• Identify manpower shortages or overruns and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Provide technical advice and support for key projects and other business activities as required.
• Coordinate with the Director of Operations to respond to customer inquiries and provide accurate job status updates.
• Identify customer needs and explain the company’s services, products, and technical solutions.
• Review customer feedback and follow up to maintain customer satisfaction.
• Identify staff training needs and implement opportunities to improve technical skills and performance.
• Mentor apprentices and semi-skilled employees by demonstrating appropriate technical practices.
• Provide performance feedback to employees and communicate ongoing performance concerns to the appropriate human resources personnel.
• Promote a strong workplace health and safety culture and ensure compliance with relevant safety procedures.
