Vision Investment Limited T/A Vision Motors is seeking an experienced Elevator and Escalator Installer / Maintainer to join its technical team in the Fiji Islands. The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical installation, maintenance, adjustment, overhaul, and repair of elevators and escalators. The role requires the ability to work independently, perform fault diagnosis, and ensure that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry standards.
Elevator and Escalator Installer / Maintainer
Qualifications:
- Male applicants only.
- Age: 25 to 45 years old.
- Proven experience in the mechanical installation of elevators and escalators.
- Ability to independently complete elevator and escalator installation projects without supervision.
- Strong knowledge of elevator and escalator mechanical components for accurate fault diagnosis and repair.
- Experience in the maintenance, adjustment, servicing, and overhaul of elevators and escalators.
- Basic electrical knowledge related to elevator and escalator systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, installation manuals, and engineering specifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Physically fit and capable of performing installation and maintenance work at heights and in confined spaces when required.
- A valid 4-wheel driver’s license is an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Perform the mechanical installation of elevators and escalators in accordance with engineering drawings, manufacturer specifications, and safety standards.
- Independently carry out installation work with minimal or no supervision.
- Inspect, maintain, adjust, and overhaul elevator and escalator systems to ensure reliable and safe operation.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and perform repairs or replacement of defective components.
- Inspect guide rails, doors, motors, gears, brakes, cables, pulleys, bearings, and other mechanical components.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and routine servicing to minimize equipment downtime.
- Perform operational testing and adjustments after installation, maintenance, or repairs.
- Assist in troubleshooting basic electrical issues related to elevator and escalator systems when required.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, installation manuals, and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain service reports, maintenance records, and inspection documentation.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and company maintenance procedures.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency service requests.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Perform other related duties assigned by management.
