PROJECT ENGINEER (MECHANICAL)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 12–15 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering within the construction industry.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale retail, commercial, healthcare, residential, and mixed-use construction projects.
• Extensive hands-on experience with HVAC systems, plumbing, firefighting systems, chilled water plants, and mechanical building services.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical drawings, HVAC layouts, plumbing schematics, MEP specifications, and construction documentation.
• Proficient in project planning and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent software.
• Familiar with construction management ERP systems and digital project management platforms.
• Solid understanding of construction contracts, quality standards, and the Saudi Building Code (SBC).
• Experience in equipment testing, commissioning, quality control, and project handover procedures.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred; PMP certification is an advantage.
• Proficient in English (written and spoken); Arabic language skills are an advantage.
• Strong leadership, technical problem-solving, communication, organizational, and risk management skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate mechanical engineering activities for HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, drainage, chilled water systems, and other MEP installations on large-scale retail, commercial, healthcare, residential, and mixed-use projects.
• Review mechanical drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and technical documents to ensure accurate site execution and compliance with project requirements.
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments, work plans, and technical documentation for mechanical installation activities.
• Monitor construction progress and inspect mechanical works to ensure compliance with quality standards, project specifications, and the Saudi Building Code (SBC).
• Coordinate with civil, architectural, electrical engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
• Prepare and maintain daily progress reports, material logs, technical documentation, and project updates for management and clients.
• Conduct site measurements, equipment verification, and material reconciliation to support procurement, cost control, and project planning.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, design conflicts, and installation challenges in coordination with consultants and project management.
• Review and support the preparation of shop drawings, equipment submittals, operation and maintenance manuals, and as-built documentation.
• Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and promote safe work practices throughout project execution.
• Participate in project meetings, site inspections, and coordination sessions with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Assist in planning and scheduling mechanical works using Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar project management software.
• Supervise testing, commissioning, system balancing, snagging, inspections, and final handover of mechanical systems to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance.
