Licensed Pharmacist (RETAIL)

Qualifications:

• Must be a licensed Pharmacist qualified to practice as required by the applicable regulations.
• Must have at least 5 years of experience as a Pharmacist in a retail/community pharmacy setting.
• Candidates with experience working or currently working in Mercury Drug, Watsons, South Star Drug, or similar retail/community pharmacy establishments will have an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of retail and community pharmacy operations.
• Experience in supervising pharmacy personnel or managing a pharmacy branch is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of prescription dispensing, medication handling, inventory management, and pharmacy procedures.
• Good leadership, staff management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety and accuracy.
• Able to prepare accurate reports and maintain complete pharmacy documentation.
• Professional, responsible, organized, and customer-focused.
• Able to work effectively with local staff and multicultural teams in Papua New Guinea.

Responsibilities:

• Work in various Chemcare Pharmacy branches across Papua New Guinea as assigned by management.
• Manage and supervise the daily operations of an assigned retail pharmacy branch.
• Serve as the Branch Manager, overseeing local pharmacy staff and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
• Provide professional pharmaceutical services in accordance with applicable pharmacy standards and regulations.
• Dispense prescription medicines accurately and safely.
• Review prescriptions and ensure appropriate dispensing procedures are followed.
• Provide customers with proper information and guidance regarding medicines, dosage, usage, precautions, and storage.
• Assist customers with over-the-counter medicines and other pharmacy products within the scope of professional practice.
• Monitor medication stocks, inventory levels, expiry dates, and proper storage conditions.
• Ensure medicines and pharmacy products are properly stored, organized, and handled.
• Supervise local staff and assign duties according to operational requirements.
• Train, guide, and monitor staff to maintain proper pharmacy procedures and customer service standards.
• Ensure branch personnel comply with pharmacy policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Maintain accurate pharmacy, dispensing, inventory, and administrative records.
• Monitor the cleanliness, organization, and professional appearance of the pharmacy.
• Address operational concerns and customer issues and report significant matters to management.
• Coordinate with the Chief Pharmacist and other management personnel regarding pharmacy operations.
• Prepare and submit monthly branch reports to the Chief Pharmacist.
• Ensure reports are accurate, complete, and submitted within the required timeframe.
• Monitor branch performance and identify operational issues requiring corrective action.
• Perform other professional pharmacy and branch management duties assigned by the company.
