Phil Eagle Recruitment is seeking qualified and experienced Chiller Installer Technicians for an overseas employment opportunity in New Zealand. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, assembling, testing, commissioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting chiller and HVAC systems in commercial, industrial, and building environments.

CHILLER INSTALLER TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in chiller installation, HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical services is preferred.
  • Knowledge of chiller systems, refrigeration cycles, chilled-water systems, pumps, valves, and HVAC controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals.
  • Knowledge of chiller installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with mechanical tools and HVAC testing equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve equipment problems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.
  • Physically capable of performing installation and maintenance work.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and assemble chiller systems, refrigeration equipment, and HVAC components according to technical specifications.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, piping layouts, and installation plans.
  • Install chilled-water piping, valves, pumps, fittings, insulation, and related components.
  • Connect electrical, control, and mechanical components associated with chiller systems.
  • Perform system testing, commissioning, and operational checks after installation.
  • Conduct pressure testing, leak detection, and other required installation inspections.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, refrigeration, and control-system problems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of chillers and HVAC equipment.
  • Replace defective components and carry out necessary repairs.
  • Monitor chiller performance and identify potential problems before equipment failure occurs.
  • Ensure installations and maintenance work meet applicable safety and quality standards.
  • Use appropriate tools, testing instruments, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain accurate records of installation, testing, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, electricians, pipefitters, and other technicians.
  • Perform other related HVAC and chiller duties as assigned.
