FIRE ALARM TECHNICIAN
Qualifications:
- Maximum age: 45 years old.
- Minimum 3 years of overseas work experience as a Fire Alarm Technician or in a closely related position.
- Strong hands-on experience installing fire alarm and fire detection systems.
- Experience with fire alarm control panels, smoke and heat detectors, manual call points, sounders, strobes, and notification devices.
- Experience with emergency warning and evacuation systems.
- Experience with fire alarm cabling, conduits, and containment.
- Experience in testing, commissioning, maintenance, repair, fault finding, troubleshooting, and system testing.
- Commercial construction project experience is required.
- Ability to read and interpret fire alarm plans, wiring diagrams, schematics, electrical drawings, and construction drawings.
- Ability to understand electrical symbols, measurements, and job specifications.
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems, low-voltage electrical systems, and associated equipment.
- Ability to safely use electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
- Fire alarm system commissioning experience is an advantage.
- Experience working at heights is an advantage.
Experience in commercial buildings, hospitals, hotels, offices, or other large facilities is an advantage. - Relevant electrical, fire alarm, or fire protection qualification/certification is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures and proper PPE use.
- Good English communication skills are essential.
- Must be willing and able to complete the IELTS and meet the required testing conditions.
- Must be willing and able to obtain an IELTS Overall Band Score of 4.0.
- Must have complete and verifiable employment documentation.
- Applicants must be currently residing in the Philippines throughout the application process.
Responsibilities:
- Install fire alarm and fire detection systems in commercial buildings and other large facilities.
- Install, connect, test, and maintain fire alarm control panels and associated equipment.
- Install and configure smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual call points, sounders, strobes, and other notification devices.
- Install emergency warning and evacuation systems.
- Install and terminate fire alarm cabling, conduits, containment systems, and related components.
- Perform testing, commissioning, maintenance, inspection, and repair of fire alarm systems.
- Conduct fault finding and troubleshooting to identify and resolve system defects and malfunctions.
- Use electrical testing equipment, hand tools, and other technical equipment safely and correctly.
- Read and interpret fire alarm plans, wiring diagrams, schematics, electrical drawings, symbols, measurements, and construction drawings.
- Verify installations against job specifications, approved plans, and applicable project requirements.
- Assist with fire alarm system commissioning and functional testing.
- Maintain accurate records of testing, maintenance, repairs, and commissioning activities.
Follow workplace health and safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE). - Work safely at heights when required and comply with site-specific safety procedures.
- Coordinate with electricians, construction workers, engineers, supervisors, and other trades on commercial projects.
