TOPNEST S.R.O. is seeking qualified and experienced Zoo Technicians specializing in Cattle and Dairy Production to work in the Czech Republic. The successful candidates will support daily commercial cattle and dairy farm operations, including animal care, feeding, breeding, reproduction, milking, herd management, health monitoring, and production recordkeeping. Candidates must be able to work closely with farm management and veterinarians while maintaining proper animal welfare, hygiene, and farm biosecurity standards.
Zoo Technician (Cattle/Dairy)
Qualifications:
- Male only.
- 25 to 40 years old.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in animal production or a livestock environment.
- Must have a degree or relevant education in Animal Science, Agriculture, Animal Production, Livestock Management, or a related field.
- Strong practical experience in commercial cattle or dairy farm operations.
- Knowledge of cattle care, feeding, reproduction, breeding, milking, and herd management.
- Experience monitoring animal health, body condition, milk production, and overall herd performance.
- Ability to identify signs of animal health or production problems and report them appropriately to the veterinarian or supervisor.
- Experience maintaining farm records, herd monitoring data, and livestock production documentation.
- Ability to work closely with a farm veterinarian and follow veterinary instructions and established treatment protocols.
- Knowledge of proper cattle handling, animal welfare, hygiene, sanitation, and farm biosecurity practices.
- Good understanding of dairy production routines, herd organization, and daily farm operations.
- Strong observation and attention-to-detail skills.
- Responsible, hardworking, and able to work independently or as part of a livestock farm team.
- Flexible and willing to perform various duties in a commercial cattle and dairy production environment.
- Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on livestock work.
- Willing to work outdoors and under varying farm conditions as required.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily care and management of cattle and dairy animals in a commercial farm environment.
- Feed cattle according to established feeding programs, schedules, and nutritional requirements.
- Monitor feed and water intake and report unusual changes that may indicate health or production concerns.
- Assist with cattle breeding and reproduction activities according to farm procedures and veterinary instructions.
- Support herd management activities for cattle at different stages of production.
- Assist with milking operations and follow established milking procedures and hygiene standards.
- Monitor milk production, milk quality, and changes in individual animal performance.
- Observe cattle regularly for signs of illness, injury, abnormal behavior, or changes in physical condition.
- Monitor body condition, growth, weight, reproductive performance, and overall herd health.
- Identify health and production concerns and promptly report them to the farm veterinarian or supervisor.
- Follow veterinary instructions regarding animal treatment, medication, vaccination, reproductive management, and health programs.
- Assist with routine animal health checks and maintain accurate livestock health records.
- Handle cattle safely and humanely in accordance with established animal welfare practices.
- Maintain clean and hygienic cattle housing, stalls, milking areas, feeding areas, and farm facilities.
- Assist with cleaning, disinfection, and sanitation procedures to maintain proper farm biosecurity.
- Monitor environmental conditions such as ventilation, temperature, cleanliness, bedding, and water availability.
- Assist with the safe movement, grouping, restraint, and handling of cattle within the farm.
- Maintain accurate records of herd numbers, feeding, breeding, calving, milk production, health conditions, treatments, and other production activities.
- Monitor herd inventories and report missing animals, health concerns, mortality, or other discrepancies.
- Organize and coordinate daily livestock production activities according to established farm schedules.
- Work closely with the farm veterinarian and follow veterinary instructions and herd health programs.
- Assist in implementing farm biosecurity measures to prevent the spread of livestock diseases.
- Report equipment, milking system, feeding, water supply, housing, or environmental problems affecting cattle production.
- Follow farm policies, safety procedures, animal welfare requirements, hygiene standards, and veterinary protocols.
- Assist with other cattle and dairy farm activities as assigned by farm management.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and productive farm working environment.
