Economic Contracting Center Co. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic systems on heavy equipment, diesel trucks, and commercial vehicles in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will have advanced diagnostic capabilities, strong knowledge of ECU/ECM and CAN Bus systems, and extensive hands-on experience using professional diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment.
Senior Electrical Technician
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Automotive Electrical, Auto Electronics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with heavy equipment, trucks, and commercial vehicles.
- Strong and proven knowledge of ECU/ECM and CAN Bus systems.
- Extensive experience with CAT, Volvo, Hitachi, Actros, MAN, and Sino Truck is preferred.
- Proficiency in professional diagnostic tools, including Cat ET, Jaltest, and Tech Tool.
- Strong electrical and electronic diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Advanced knowledge of automotive electrical systems, wiring, sensors, control modules, starting and charging systems, and batteries.
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and repair instructions.
- Strong knowledge of electrical special tools and diagnostic testing equipment.
- Knowledge of battery consumption and cost-reduction techniques.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and MS Office applications.
- Familiarity with automation systems and electronic control technology is an advantage.
- Good English communication skills required.
- GCC experience is preferred.
- Valid driving license is preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, supervise or guide junior technicians, and collaborate with workshop teams.
- Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on electrical work in a demanding workshop environment.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, safety awareness, and commitment to quality workmanship.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic systems on heavy equipment, diesel trucks, and commercial vehicles.
- Conduct advanced electrical diagnostics to identify wiring faults, electronic failures, communication errors, and system malfunctions.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot ECU/ECM systems, electronic control modules, sensors, actuators, and related components.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of CAN Bus communication systems and identify communication and network-related faults.
- Use professional diagnostic equipment to retrieve, analyze, interpret, and clear fault codes.
- Operate diagnostic tools including Cat ET, Jaltest, and Tech Tool for advanced equipment troubleshooting.
- Inspect and test wiring harnesses, connectors, relays, switches, sensors, control units, and electrical circuits.
- Diagnose and repair starting, charging, lighting, battery, and other vehicle electrical systems.
- Investigate abnormal battery consumption and implement appropriate techniques to improve battery performance and reduce operating costs.
- Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on heavy equipment, trucks, and commercial vehicles.
- Conduct electrical inspections, testing, calibration, and functional checks following repair or component replacement.
- Work with equipment and vehicles from manufacturers such as CAT, Volvo, Hitachi, Actros, MAN, and Sino Truck.
- Read and interpret complex electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and manufacturer repair procedures.
- Use electrical special tools, testing instruments, and diagnostic equipment safely and correctly.
- Assist in identifying recurring electrical faults and recommend corrective measures to improve equipment reliability.
- Support the installation, replacement, calibration, and testing of electrical and electronic components.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior electrical technicians and workshop personnel when required.
- Review diagnostic findings and communicate major electrical repair requirements to supervisors and management.
- Maintain accurate records of diagnostic results, fault codes, repairs, replacement components, and maintenance activities.
- Update work orders, maintenance records, and technical information using ERP systems.
- Use MS Office applications for technical reports, maintenance records, documentation, and related administrative tasks.
- Assist with troubleshooting and maintenance of automation and electronic control systems.
- Maintain electrical tools, special equipment, diagnostic devices, and workshop areas in safe and organized condition.
- Follow manufacturer specifications, workshop procedures, company policies, and workplace safety requirements.
- Properly handle batteries, electrical components, tools, and other workshop materials.
- Perform other senior-level electrical diagnostic, repair, maintenance, and technical duties as assigned by management.
