Economic Contracting Center Co. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Technician (Engine Overhaul) to perform complete diesel engine overhauls on heavy equipment and commercial trucks in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate should have extensive hands-on experience with Inline 6 and V8 diesel engines, strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to inspect, measure, repair, assemble, and test engine components according to manufacturer specifications.

Senior Mechanical Technician (Engine Overhaul)

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Diesel Mechanics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on engine overhaul experience.
• Extensive experience performing complete diesel engine overhauls on heavy equipment and commercial trucks.
• Strong practical experience with Inline 6 and V8 diesel engines.
• Knowledge of engine disassembly, inspection, component measurement, repair, rebuilding, and reassembly.
• Skilled in engine component inspection and precision measurement.
• Ability to accurately set engine timing and valve clearances.
• Experience conducting engine performance testing and post-overhaul inspections.
• Strong knowledge of lubrication, cooling, fuel, and air intake systems.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical engine failures and perform systematic troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, service documentation, and repair specifications.
• Knowledge of OEM engine tolerances, torque specifications, adjustment procedures, and overhaul standards.
• Experience working with heavy equipment and commercial truck engines.
• Experience with CAT, Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi, Mercedes-Benz, MAN, and Sino Truck is preferred.
• Basic English communication skills.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and provide technical guidance to junior technicians.
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on engine overhaul work in a busy workshop environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Perform complete overhaul, rebuilding, repair, and maintenance of diesel engines used in heavy equipment and commercial trucks.
• Work on Inline 6 and V8 diesel engines, including complete disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly.
• Diagnose engine mechanical problems and determine the root cause of failures and abnormal operating conditions.
• Disassemble engines and systematically inspect internal and external components for wear, damage, and defects.
• Inspect pistons, piston rings, connecting rods, crankshafts, camshafts, cylinder heads, valves, bearings, liners, gaskets, and other engine components.
• Perform precision measurements of engine components to determine serviceability, wear limits, and required repairs.
• Use appropriate measuring instruments and tools to check clearances, dimensions, tolerances, and component condition.
• Repair, replace, or rebuild defective and worn engine components according to OEM specifications.
• Perform engine assembly using correct torque settings, clearances, sequences, and manufacturer procedures.
• Set engine timing and valve clearances accurately after engine assembly or repair.
• Inspect and maintain engine lubrication systems, including oil pumps, passages, filters, and related components.
• Inspect and troubleshoot engine cooling systems, including radiators, water pumps, thermostats, hoses, and related components.
• Inspect and maintain diesel fuel systems, fuel pumps, injectors, lines, filters, and related components.
• Inspect and troubleshoot air intake systems, turbochargers, intercoolers, air filters, and associated components.
• Conduct compression checks, pressure tests, leak checks, and other diagnostic tests as required.
• Perform engine performance testing after overhaul or major repair.
• Monitor engine performance, operating temperature, oil pressure, fuel system performance, noise, vibration, and other operating conditions during testing.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, service procedures, and manufacturer specifications.
• Follow OEM-recommended tolerances, torque specifications, assembly procedures, and overhaul standards.
• Use mechanical hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment, and specialized engine overhaul equipment safely.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, measurements, repairs, replacement parts, and overhaul activities.
• Identify recurring engine failures and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
• Coordinate with electrical, hydraulic, transmission, and other mechanical technicians during equipment diagnosis and repair.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior mechanics and technicians when required.
• Maintain engine overhaul tools, equipment, workstations, and workshop areas in clean and organized condition.
• Properly handle engine oils, lubricants, coolants, fuels, cleaning agents, and other workshop materials.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform other engine overhaul, mechanical repair, maintenance, and technical duties as assigned by management.
