TOPNEST S.R.O. is seeking qualified and experienced Zoo Technicians specializing in Swine Production to work in the Czech Republic. The successful candidates will support daily commercial swine production operations, including animal care, feeding, breeding, reproduction, health monitoring, production performance, and farm recordkeeping. Candidates must be able to work closely with farm management and veterinarians while maintaining proper livestock handling, hygiene, and animal welfare standards.
Zoo Technician (Swine)
Qualifications:
- Male only.
- 25 to 40 years old.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in animal production or a livestock environment.
- Must have a degree or relevant education in Animal Science, Agriculture, Animal Production, Livestock Management, or a related field.
- Strong practical experience in commercial swine production.
- Knowledge of swine care, feeding, reproduction, breeding, and production management.
- Experience monitoring animal health, physical condition, growth, and production performance.
- Ability to identify signs of animal health or production problems and report them appropriately to the veterinarian or supervisor.
- Experience maintaining farm records, livestock monitoring data, and daily production documentation.
- Ability to work closely with a farm veterinarian and follow veterinary instructions and treatment protocols.
- Knowledge of proper animal handling, welfare, hygiene, sanitation, and farm biosecurity practices.
- Good understanding of daily livestock production organization and farm routines.
- Strong observation and attention-to-detail skills.
- Responsible, hardworking, and able to work independently or as part of a farm team.
- Flexible and willing to perform various duties in a commercial livestock production environment.
- Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on work in a farm environment.
- Willing to work outdoors and under varying farm conditions as required.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily care and management of pigs in a commercial swine production environment.
- Feed pigs according to established feeding programs, schedules, and production requirements.
- Monitor feed and water intake and report unusual changes that may indicate health or production concerns.
- Assist with breeding and reproduction activities according to farm procedures and veterinary instructions.
- Monitor animals during different stages of production, including breeding, farrowing, nursing, growing, and finishing.
- Observe pigs regularly for signs of illness, injury, abnormal behavior, or changes in physical condition.
- Monitor animal growth, body condition, weight, and overall production performance.
- Identify health and production concerns and promptly report them to the farm veterinarian or supervisor.
- Follow veterinary instructions regarding animal treatment, medication, vaccination, and health management.
- Assist with routine animal health checks and maintain proper livestock monitoring records.
- Handle pigs safely and humanely in accordance with established animal welfare practices.
- Maintain clean and hygienic animal housing, pens, feeding areas, and farm facilities.
- Assist with cleaning, disinfection, and sanitation procedures to maintain proper farm biosecurity.
- Monitor environmental conditions such as ventilation, temperature, cleanliness, and water availability.
- Assist with the proper handling and movement of pigs within the farm.
- Maintain accurate records of animal numbers, feeding, breeding, health conditions, treatments, growth, mortality, and production activities.
- Monitor livestock inventories and report discrepancies or unusual animal losses.
- Organize and coordinate daily farm production activities according to established schedules.
- Work closely with farm veterinarians and supervisors to maintain animal health and production standards.
- Assist in implementing farm biosecurity procedures to prevent the spread of diseases.
- Report equipment, facility, feeding, water supply, or environmental problems affecting animal production.
- Follow farm policies, safety procedures, animal welfare requirements, and veterinary protocols.
- Assist with other livestock production activities as assigned by farm management.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive farm working environment.
