Abdulaziz Al-Ghamdi Poultry Establishment is seeking a qualified Veterinary Doctor specializing in poultry production to oversee the health, welfare, and disease management of poultry flocks. The successful candidate will implement preventive healthcare programs, monitor flock performance, diagnose and treat diseases, and ensure compliance with biosecurity, food safety, and animal welfare standards to support efficient poultry operations.
VETERINARY DOCTOR
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent Veterinary degree.
- Specialization or proven experience in poultry health and poultry farm management.
- Strong knowledge of poultry diseases, vaccination programs, biosecurity, nutrition, and animal welfare.
- Experience in commercial poultry farming, hatcheries, breeder farms, broiler operations, or layer farms is highly preferred.
- Ability to diagnose poultry diseases and implement effective treatment and prevention programs.
- Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Physically fit and willing to work in farm environments.
- Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary agricultural team.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the health and welfare of poultry flocks through routine inspections and health assessments.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage poultry diseases, infections, and health disorders using appropriate veterinary practices.
- Develop and implement preventive healthcare programs, including vaccination schedules, parasite control, and disease prevention strategies.
- Establish and enforce biosecurity protocols to prevent the spread of infectious diseases within poultry facilities.
- Monitor flock performance, mortality rates, feed consumption, growth, and production indicators, and recommend improvements.
- Collect samples and coordinate laboratory testing for disease diagnosis and health monitoring.
- Prescribe and administer medications, vaccines, and treatment programs in accordance with veterinary regulations.
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare standards, food safety regulations, and company operating procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and training to farm personnel on poultry health, handling, sanitation, and biosecurity practices.
- Maintain accurate veterinary records, treatment logs, vaccination records, and health reports.
- Coordinate with farm management to improve poultry production efficiency and overall flock performance.
- Perform other veterinary and technical duties assigned by management.
