SPED TEACHER

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from a recognized university, including completion of a practicum.
• Experience working with individuals with moderate to severe autism in a Special Education (SPED) school classroom setting.
• Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorder, individualized teaching strategies, and inclusive education practices.
• Ability to embrace a person-centered approach and work collaboratively with students, families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, classroom management, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrates a growth mindset, actively pursuing professional learning and continuous improvement.
• High level of integrity, accountability, and commitment to quality educational services and governance.
• Creative, adaptable, and innovative in addressing students’ educational and developmental needs.
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting students in achieving their fullest potential.
• Willing to work in Singapore under the employer’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver individualized educational programs tailored to the learning needs of students with moderate to severe autism.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress toward functional and academic goals.
• Create a safe, structured, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes learning and positive behavior.
• Apply evidence-based teaching strategies and behavior management techniques appropriate for students with special educational needs.
• Assess students’ learning, communication, social, and functional skills, and maintain accurate progress records.
• Collaborate closely with parents, caregivers, therapists, psychologists, and other professionals to support each student’s development.
• Promote students’ independence, participation, and inclusion in school and community activities.
• Adapt teaching materials, classroom activities, and instructional methods to meet diverse learning abilities.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case conferences, and professional development programs.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with school policies, safeguarding requirements, and educational standards.
• Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to delivering high-quality educational services.
• Perform other teaching and student support duties assigned by school management.
