Pastry Maker

Qualifications:

  • Age: 21–35 years old.
  • Previous experience as a Pastry Maker, Pastry Cook, Baker, Pastry Assistant, or related bakery position is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of pastry preparation, baking, dough handling, filling, decorating, and finishing techniques.
  • Ability to prepare a variety of pastries with consistent taste, texture, quality, and presentation.
  • Familiarity with laminated dough, pastry creams, fillings, glazes, and other pastry components.
  • Ability to accurately measure ingredients and follow recipes and production instructions.
  • Skilled in safely operating common bakery and pastry equipment.
  • Creative and detail-oriented with good presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene, sanitation, food safety, and proper storage procedures.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods in a bakery production environment.
  • Able to work efficiently under pressure and meet daily production schedules.
  • Good teamwork, communication, organization, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and produce a variety of pastries, baked goods, and desserts according to established recipes and production standards.
  • Prepare croissants, Danish pastries, puff pastries, tarts, pies, éclairs, cream puffs, cookies, and other pastry products.
  • Prepare pastry doughs, batters, creams, fillings, custards, mousses, glazes, and other pastry components.
  • Accurately measure and mix ingredients to achieve consistent texture, flavor, and quality.
  • Perform pastry preparation techniques such as mixing, kneading, laminating, rolling, shaping, proofing, baking, filling, and finishing.
  • Operate ovens, mixers, sheeters, proofers, refrigerators, and other bakery equipment safely and correctly.
  • Monitor baking temperatures and times to ensure pastries are properly baked and have the required color, texture, and appearance.
  • Prepare and apply fillings, creams, icings, glazes, toppings, and other finishing components.
  • Decorate pastries and desserts according to product specifications and presentation standards.
  • Ensure consistent size, shape, weight, texture, flavor, and appearance of finished products.
  • Prepare pastry products according to daily production schedules and expected customer demand.
  • Inspect finished pastries for quality, freshness, appearance, and proper presentation.
  • Arrange pastries attractively in bakery and retail displays.
  • Package and label finished products according to company procedures.
  • Properly store ingredients, prepared components, and finished pastry products at appropriate temperatures.
  • Follow proper product rotation and storage procedures to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
  • Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
  • Follow strict food hygiene, sanitation, and food safety procedures during preparation and production.
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, utensils, trays, molds, equipment, and preparation areas regularly.
  • Monitor ingredient supplies and inform supervisors of shortages or replenishment requirements.
  • Minimize food waste through accurate measuring, portioning, preparation, and proper storage.
  • Coordinate with bakers, pastry staff, kitchen helpers, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth production.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pastry production area throughout the working shift.
  • Follow company recipes, quality standards, workplace safety procedures, and operational policies.
  • Perform other pastry-making and bakery production duties assigned by management.
