Fresh Food Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Age: 21–35 years old.
- Previous experience in fresh food operations, supermarket, hypermarket, food retail, restaurant, bakery, deli, meat, seafood, or related food service operations is an advantage.
- Previous supervisory or team-lead experience in a fresh food or food retail environment is preferred.
- Good knowledge of fresh food preparation, handling, storage, display, and retail operations.
- Strong understanding of food hygiene, sanitation, food safety, and temperature-control procedures.
- Ability to supervise, train, motivate, and coordinate a team effectively.
- Good leadership, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Able to monitor product quality, freshness, stock levels, and department presentation.
- Basic knowledge of inventory control, stock rotation, wastage monitoring, and reporting.
- Physically fit and capable of standing and moving around the department for extended periods.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced supermarket or hypermarket environment.
- Professional, responsible, hardworking, reliable, and able to enforce company standards and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the daily operations of the fresh food department and ensure smooth workflow.
- Oversee fresh food preparation, production, display, storage, and sales activities.
- Supervise and assign duties to fresh food staff, including cooks, food preparation staff, sales personnel, and other department employees.
- Prepare daily work schedules and allocate staff according to operational requirements.
- Monitor staff attendance, performance, productivity, grooming, and compliance with company procedures.
- Ensure fresh food products are prepared, displayed, and handled according to established quality standards.
- Inspect the freshness, quality, appearance, portioning, and presentation of fresh food products.
- Ensure proper temperature control, refrigeration, storage, and product rotation procedures are followed.
- Monitor food preparation and handling practices to prevent contamination and food safety risks.
- Ensure strict compliance with food hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections of workstations, preparation areas, storage facilities, equipment, and display counters.
- Ensure all equipment, tools, utensils, counters, and work areas are properly cleaned and maintained.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment of fresh food ingredients, products, packaging materials, and supplies.
- Assist with receiving and checking fresh food deliveries for quantity, quality, freshness, and condition.
- Monitor stock rotation and minimize food waste, spoilage, and product losses.
- Ensure products are properly weighed, packaged, labeled, priced, and displayed.
- Monitor department displays to ensure products remain attractive, adequately stocked, and properly presented.
- Assist customers and address inquiries, requests, complaints, and concerns professionally.
- Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, sales, cashier, and other departments to ensure efficient operations.
- Monitor daily sales, production, stock movement, and department performance.
- Prepare or assist with operational reports, inventory records, wastage reports, and other required documentation.
- Ensure promotional products and special offers are properly displayed and available.
- Train and guide employees regarding food preparation, customer service, hygiene, safety, and company procedures.
- Identify operational problems and take appropriate corrective action or report them to management.
- Ensure the department meets company targets for quality, productivity, sales, customer service, and operational efficiency.
- Perform other supervisory and fresh food department duties assigned by management.
