Filipino Sweet Maker

Qualifications:

  • Age: 21–42 years old.
  • Previous experience as a Filipino Sweet Maker, Dessert Maker, Pastry Cook, Baker, Confectioner, or related food production position is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of traditional Filipino sweets, desserts, and delicacies.
  • Ability to prepare a variety of Filipino desserts with consistent taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Knowledge of ingredients and preparation techniques commonly used in Filipino sweet making.
  • Ability to accurately measure ingredients and follow recipes and production instructions.
  • Creative and detail-oriented with good presentation skills.
  • Ability to safely operate common cooking, bakery, and confectionery equipment.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene, sanitation, food safety, and proper storage procedures.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods in a busy food production environment.
  • Able to work efficiently under pressure and meet daily production schedules.
  • Good teamwork, communication, organization, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and produce a variety of traditional Filipino sweets, desserts, and confectionery products.
  • Prepare popular Filipino delicacies such as leche flan, buko pandan, maja blanca, kutsinta, puto, sapin-sapin, cassava cake, ube-based desserts, and other Filipino sweets.
  • Prepare ingredients such as coconut milk, coconut, rice flour, glutinous rice, sugar, fruits, ube, condensed milk, evaporated milk, and other ingredients used in Filipino desserts.
  • Measure and mix ingredients accurately according to established recipes and production standards.
  • Cook, steam, bake, chill, mold, shape, portion, and finish Filipino sweets using appropriate preparation techniques.
  • Ensure proper consistency, texture, sweetness, color, and appearance of finished products.
  • Prepare fillings, toppings, syrups, sauces, creams, and other dessert components as required.
  • Decorate and garnish Filipino sweets and desserts to achieve attractive retail presentation.
  • Prepare products according to daily production schedules and expected customer demand.
  • Maintain consistency in taste, size, portion, texture, and presentation across all products.
  • Check ingredients for freshness and quality before use.
  • Properly store raw materials, prepared ingredients, and finished sweets at appropriate temperatures.
  • Follow proper food rotation and storage procedures to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
  • Package, label, and arrange finished products for retail display and customer purchase.
  • Inspect finished products for quality, freshness, appearance, and proper packaging before display.
  • Follow strict food hygiene, sanitation, and food safety procedures during preparation and production.
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, utensils, molds, trays, cooking equipment, and preparation areas regularly.
  • Safely operate ovens, steamers, mixers, cookers, refrigerators, and other bakery or confectionery equipment.
  • Monitor cooking temperatures and processing times to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Monitor ingredient supplies and report shortages or damaged materials to supervisors.
  • Minimize food waste through accurate measuring, portioning, preparation, and proper storage.
  • Coordinate with cooks, bakers, pastry staff, kitchen helpers, and supervisors to ensure smooth production.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe food preparation area throughout the working shift.
  • Follow company recipes, food safety standards, workplace safety procedures, and operational policies.
  • Perform other Filipino sweet-making and food production duties assigned by management.
