Accurate Infrastructure Solutions Limited is seeking qualified and experienced Solar Panel Installers for an overseas work opportunity in New Zealand. The successful candidates will be responsible for installing, mounting, wiring, and maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The role requires practical knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical connections, mounting systems, basic troubleshooting, and safe work practices, including working outdoors and at heights.

SOLAR PANEL INSTALLER

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or vocational/technical course graduate.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in solar panel installation, electrical work, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of solar PV systems, wiring, electrical connections, and basic electrical safety.
  • Practical experience using hand tools, power tools, electrical testing equipment, and solar installation equipment.
  • Ability to install solar panels, mounting systems, wiring, and related PV components.
  • Knowledge of DC/AC wiring, inverters, batteries, and solar mounting systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to read and understand basic electrical diagrams and solar installation plans.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Physically fit and capable of working outdoors, at heights, and in various weather conditions.
  • Comfortable performing work on rooftops, ladders, elevated platforms, and other areas requiring height access.
  • Safety-conscious and able to strictly follow company procedures, electrical safety requirements, and workplace safety practices.
  • Knowledge of proper PPE use and working-at-heights safety procedures.
  • Electrical/Solar Installation Certification or TESDA Certification is an advantage.
  • Valid Driver’s License is an advantage.
  • Willing to travel and work at different project locations as required.
  • Preferred candidates have experience in residential, commercial, or industrial solar PV installation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Reliable, hardworking, physically fit, and willing to learn new solar installation technologies and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively under changing site conditions and project schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Install solar photovoltaic (PV) panels on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings and other designated structures.
  • Install and secure solar mounting systems, rails, brackets, clamps, and associated support components.
  • Measure and mark installation areas to ensure proper panel positioning, alignment, spacing, and orientation.
  • Assemble and install solar panels according to approved installation plans, drawings, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform DC wiring and electrical connections between solar panels and associated PV equipment.
  • Assist with AC wiring and connections between inverters, electrical distribution equipment, and the building electrical system as required.
  • Install and connect solar inverters, batteries, isolators, junction boxes, and related system components.
  • Route, secure, label, and protect solar cables and electrical wiring to ensure safe and organized installations.
  • Read and interpret basic electrical diagrams, wiring diagrams, layout plans, and solar installation drawings.
  • Verify correct polarity, cable connections, grounding, and electrical installation practices.
  • Assist with system testing and commissioning after installation.
  • Perform basic electrical and solar PV system checks to identify installation issues or connection problems.
  • Troubleshoot basic faults involving solar panels, wiring, inverters, batteries, and other PV system components.
  • Inspect installed solar panels and electrical components for proper alignment, secure mounting, connections, and workmanship.
  • Identify damaged, defective, or incorrectly installed components and report them to the supervisor or project engineer.
  • Use appropriate hand tools, power tools, electrical testing equipment, and installation equipment safely and correctly.
  • Perform basic maintenance, adjustments, repairs, and replacement of solar PV components when required.
  • Follow manufacturer instructions, project specifications, approved installation procedures, and applicable workplace requirements.
  • Maintain safe access and work areas when performing installations on rooftops, elevated platforms, ladders, or other heights.
  • Follow proper working-at-heights procedures, including the use of fall-protection equipment where required.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during solar and electrical installation activities.
  • Maintain awareness of electrical hazards, including DC and AC electrical risks, and follow proper isolation and safety procedures.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, materials, panels, and mounting components are handled and stored safely.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and properly dispose of packaging and installation waste.
  • Coordinate with electricians, engineers, supervisors, builders, roofers, and other trades during project installation activities.
  • Work efficiently as part of a team while also completing assigned installation tasks independently.
  • Travel to and work at different project locations as required.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and positioning solar panels, mounting materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Monitor the condition of installed systems and report potential maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Ensure completed installations meet required quality, safety, and workmanship standards.
  • Perform other solar installation, electrical, maintenance, and project-related duties assigned by management.
