Daeah Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd is seeking a qualified Material Engineer to support its construction projects in Mozambique. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that construction materials comply with project specifications, engineering standards, and client requirements. The role involves material inspection, quality control, documentation, and coordination with project teams to ensure the proper selection, storage, and use of materials throughout the project lifecycle.

Material Engineer

Qualifications:

• Male applicants are preferred.
• Bachelor’s/College Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience as a Material Engineer or in a similar role within construction or engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, engineering specifications, and quality control procedures.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, material specifications, and technical documentation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with quality management systems is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural project environment.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and verify construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and client requirements.
• Review material submittals, technical data sheets, and manufacturer certifications for approval.
• Monitor the storage, handling, and preservation of materials to prevent damage, contamination, or deterioration.
• Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, quality control, and construction teams to ensure the availability of approved materials.
• Conduct material inspections and verify compliance with applicable quality standards and project requirements.
• Prepare material approval requests, inspection reports, material tracking records, and quality documentation.
• Investigate material-related issues and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of material inspections, approvals, and testing results.
• Ensure compliance with company quality management procedures and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.
• Support internal and client inspections, audits, and project documentation activities.
