Squib Group is seeking an experienced Production Operator to operate and monitor plant equipment used in oil extraction and canola processing operations. The successful candidate should have strong hands-on experience with industrial plant machinery, particularly canola-crushing equipment, and be capable of performing basic equipment maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain efficient production.

PRODUCTION OPERATOR

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience.
• Good English communication skills.
• Proven experience operating plant equipment for oil extraction or agricultural/food processing operations.
• Experience involving canola or coconut oil extraction is preferred.
• Ability to operate and monitor canola-crushing machinery.
• Practical understanding of industrial plant equipment and production processes.
• Ability to perform routine equipment inspections and identify operating abnormalities.
• Ability to maintain equipment, including checking and maintaining appropriate grease and oil levels, to minimize downtime.
• Basic knowledge of equipment lubrication and operator-level preventive maintenance.
• Ability to follow operating procedures, production schedules, and safety instructions accurately.
• Strong attention to detail when monitoring machinery and production processes.
• Good mechanical awareness and basic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to identify and promptly report equipment faults, leaks, unusual noises, or other operational problems.
• Ability to work safely around industrial machinery and processing equipment.
• Physically capable of performing production work and routine equipment checks.
• Reliable, responsible, and safety-conscious approach to work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor plant equipment used for oil extraction and processing according to established operating procedures.
• Operate and monitor canola-crushing machinery to ensure efficient and consistent production.
• Load, feed, and process canola and other raw materials according to production requirements.
• Monitor crushing and oil extraction processes and adjust operating parameters when necessary.
• Check machinery, production lines, and equipment regularly for abnormal sounds, leaks, vibrations, or other operating issues.
• Monitor production output and ensure processes remain within required operating and quality standards.
• Perform routine equipment checks before, during, and after production operations.
• Check and maintain appropriate grease and oil levels on plant equipment.
• Carry out basic lubrication and operator-level maintenance to help prevent equipment breakdowns.
• Identify equipment problems early and report mechanical or operational issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
• Assist maintenance teams with troubleshooting and corrective maintenance when required.
• Perform basic cleaning of machinery, processing areas, and production equipment.
• Ensure raw materials and processed products are handled safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate production, equipment, maintenance, and operational records as required.
• Follow production schedules and operating procedures to achieve daily production targets.
• Monitor equipment performance and take appropriate action to minimize production interruptions and downtime.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures when operating heavy industrial machinery and processing equipment.
• Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe operating practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area.
• Communicate equipment conditions, production issues, and maintenance requirements clearly to supervisors and team members.
• Work effectively with production and maintenance teams to maintain continuous plant operations.
• Perform other production and equipment operation duties assigned by management.
