LAUNDRY MANAGER

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Laundry Manager is required.
• Proven experience managing laundry operations, preferably in a hotel, resort, or hospitality environment.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling, washing formulas, stain removal, and textile safety standards.
• Good understanding of laundry processes, textile care, washing methods, drying, pressing, folding, and storage.
• Ability to supervise, train, and coordinate laundry staff effectively.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to laundry quality and hygiene.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to respond effectively to operational issues.
• Good verbal and written English proficiency for coordinating with staff and upper management.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment and manage multiple laundry requirements.
• Responsible, reliable, organized, and capable of maintaining high operational standards.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the resort’s laundry department.
• Supervise, guide, and coordinate laundry staff to ensure efficient workflow.
• Plan and organize daily laundry activities according to operational requirements.
• Ensure linens, towels, uniforms, and other textile items are properly sorted, washed, dried, folded, pressed, and stored.
• Monitor washing formulas and ensure appropriate processes are used for different types of fabrics and laundry items.
• Inspect laundry for stains, damage, discoloration, or other quality issues.
• Ensure proper stain removal procedures are followed without damaging fabrics.
• Monitor the quality, cleanliness, appearance, and condition of finished laundry items.
• Ensure laundry equipment is operated correctly and safely.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and report equipment breakdowns or technical problems to the appropriate department.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels of detergents, chemicals, cleaning materials, and other laundry supplies.
• Ensure safe storage, handling, measuring, and use of laundry chemicals.
• Train and guide staff on safe chemical handling, washing procedures, stain removal, and textile care.
• Ensure compliance with textile safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Coordinate laundry requirements with housekeeping, front office, food and beverage, and other resort departments.
• Monitor laundry schedules and prioritize urgent requirements to support smooth resort operations.
• Maintain accurate records of laundry volumes, supplies, equipment issues, and other departmental activities.
• Monitor staff attendance, performance, productivity, and compliance with departmental procedures.
• Conduct regular inspections of the laundry area to ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety.
• Minimize damage, loss, and wastage of linens, uniforms, chemicals, water, and other resources.
• Investigate and address laundry quality issues and operational concerns.
• Communicate regularly with supervisors and upper management regarding laundry operations, requirements, and issues.
• Ensure sufficient clean laundry is available to meet the operational needs of the resort.
• Perform other laundry management and operational duties assigned by management.
