Gulfshores Company for Sanitary Ware is seeking a qualified Laboratory Technician with experience in the ceramic industry to support laboratory testing, raw material analysis, slip and glaze preparation, and quality control activities. The successful candidate should have a strong technical background and be capable of conducting accurate laboratory tests and maintaining consistent product quality.
LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
Qualifications:
- Male applicants preferred.
- Diploma or Degree in Ceramic Engineering, Ceramic Technology, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of related work experience in the ceramic industry.
- Must have knowledge of laboratory testing, slip and glaze preparation, raw material analysis, and quality control procedures.
- Practical understanding of ceramic raw materials and their properties.
- Knowledge of ceramic slip and glaze preparation, testing, and quality requirements.
- Ability to conduct laboratory tests accurately and follow established testing procedures.
- Ability to collect, prepare, label, and analyze samples correctly.
- Good understanding of quality control principles and laboratory documentation.
- Ability to interpret laboratory test results and identify deviations from specifications.
- Familiarity with laboratory instruments and equipment used in ceramic material testing.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency when conducting tests and recording results.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify and report quality issues promptly.
- Knowledge of safe handling of chemicals, ceramic materials, and laboratory equipment.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and properly controlled laboratory environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, responsible, and capable of working independently when required.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory tests on ceramic raw materials, slip, glaze, and finished products according to established procedures.
- Perform analysis and testing of raw materials to verify their quality and suitability for ceramic production.
- Prepare and test ceramic slip and glaze according to approved formulations and production requirements.
- Collect, label, prepare, and properly handle laboratory samples.
- Monitor physical and chemical characteristics of materials and production samples.
- Perform routine quality control tests and accurately record laboratory results.
- Compare test results with established specifications and quality standards.
- Identify materials or samples that do not meet required specifications and report deviations to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist in investigating quality problems related to raw materials, slip, glaze, and ceramic production processes.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, test reports, sample information, and quality documentation.
- Operate laboratory testing equipment and instruments safely and correctly.
- Perform routine checks and basic maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure reliable test results.
- Maintain proper organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of the laboratory and testing areas.
- Follow approved laboratory procedures, quality control protocols, and workplace safety requirements.
- Handle chemicals, ceramic materials, samples, and laboratory equipment using appropriate safety precautions.
- Support production and quality control teams by providing accurate and timely laboratory test results.
- Communicate significant test results, material abnormalities, and quality concerns to supervisors and relevant departments.
- Assist with continuous improvement activities related to ceramic material testing and quality control.
- Ensure laboratory activities are conducted consistently, accurately, and in accordance with company standards.
- Perform other laboratory and quality control duties assigned by management.
