WELDER LABOURER
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be at least a High School Graduate.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Basic knowledge of welding and metal fabrication is an advantage.
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools such as grinders, drills, hammers, clamps, and cutting tools.
- Ability to assist welders with cutting, fitting, positioning, grinding, cleaning, and handling of metal materials.
- Basic ability to read and understand measurements, work instructions, and simple technical drawings.
- Knowledge of basic metal preparation and fabrication processes.
- Ability to safely handle workshop tools, equipment, and metal materials.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting, carrying, positioning, and moving metal materials and equipment.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for workshop and fabrication tasks.
- Strong attention to safety and ability to follow instructions from supervisors and skilled workers.
- Willingness to work in a workshop or industrial environment and support different fabrication activities.
- Reliable, hardworking, disciplined, and responsible.
- Ability to work independently when assigned basic tasks and cooperate effectively with welders and the fabrication team.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist welders with welding, fabrication, cutting, fitting, and assembly activities.
- Prepare, clean, measure, and position metal materials before welding or fabrication.
- Measure and mark metal materials according to work instructions, dimensions, or drawings.
- Cut and handle metal materials using appropriate hand tools and cutting equipment under supervision.
- Assist in setting up, positioning, and moving welding machines, tools, equipment, and materials.
- Hold, position, align, and secure metal components during welding and fabrication operations.
- Assist skilled welders in fitting and assembling metal components according to required dimensions.
- Perform grinding, chipping, cleaning, and finishing of welded surfaces and fabricated components.
- Remove slag, burrs, sharp edges, and excess material as instructed.
- Assist with preparation of joints and surfaces before welding.
- Load, unload, carry, move, and organize metal materials and workshop equipment safely.
- Use basic hand and power tools such as grinders, drills, hammers, clamps, and cutting tools.
- Assist with basic inspection of fabricated components and report visible defects or irregularities.
- Assist with basic maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of welding and fabrication equipment.
- Keep welding machines, tools, materials, and work areas clean and properly organized.
- Ensure tools and materials are safely stored after use.
- Follow instructions from welders, supervisors, and other skilled workers.
- Report damaged tools, equipment malfunctions, material defects, or unsafe working conditions to the supervisor.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and remove scrap metal, debris, and waste from the work area.
- Follow workplace safety procedures, proper lifting techniques, and required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Support welders and fabrication teams in completing assigned projects efficiently and on schedule.
- Cooperate with other workshop personnel to maintain smooth and productive operations.
- Perform other general labour, fabrication assistance, and workshop duties assigned by the supervisor.
