Laser Cutting Machine Operator
Qualifications:
- Must have at least 5 years of relevant working experience in the metal production industry.
- Must be able to operate, adjust, troubleshoot, and service machines relevant to the position being applied for.
- Practical experience operating laser cutting machines in metal manufacturing or fabrication.
- Knowledge of metal cutting processes, machine setup, material handling, and production quality standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and production specifications.
- Familiarity with cutting programs, machine parameter adjustments, and quality inspection procedures.
- Ability to identify operational issues and perform basic machine troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and safe operation of industrial machinery.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and production efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate laser cutting machines used for metal production and fabrication.
- Load metal sheets or other materials into the machine and ensure proper positioning before cutting.
- Adjust machine parameters, including cutting speed, power, focus, and other settings, according to material type, thickness, and production requirements.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, cutting plans, and production specifications.
- Select appropriate cutting programs and ensure accurate execution of cutting operations.
- Monitor machine performance and cutting quality throughout the production process.
- Inspect finished metal components for dimensional accuracy, edge quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Identify cutting defects, machine errors, and operational problems, and perform troubleshooting when necessary.
- Carry out routine machine servicing, cleaning, and preventive maintenance to keep equipment in good working condition.
- Coordinate with production personnel to meet manufacturing schedules and quality requirements.
- Follow workplace safety procedures when operating laser cutting equipment and handling metal materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and minimize material waste during production.
