Press Brake Programmer / Operator
Qualifications:
- Must have at least 5 years of relevant working experience in the metal production industry.
- Must have strong experience and practical skills in press brake programming and machine operation.
- Must be able to operate, adjust, troubleshoot, and service the machines relevant to the position.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, bending processes, and press brake tooling.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing specifications.
- Experience programming bending sequences and adjusting machine parameters for different materials and component designs.
- Knowledge of dimensional measurement, quality inspection, and defect correction.
- Ability to identify machine problems and perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and production efficiency.
- Knowledge of industrial machinery safety procedures and safe material handling.
Responsibilities:
- Program, set up, and operate press brake machines for sheet metal bending and forming operations.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, engineering plans, and production specifications.
- Create, edit, and adjust press brake programs according to component dimensions, material thickness, bending angles, and production requirements.
- Select and install suitable punches, dies, and other tooling for different bending operations.
- Set machine parameters, including bending force, back gauge position, bending angle, and other relevant settings.
- Perform test bends and make necessary adjustments to ensure dimensional accuracy and consistent product quality.
- Operate press brake machinery safely and efficiently to meet production schedules.
- Inspect finished components for bending accuracy, angles, dimensions, and compliance with technical specifications.
- Identify and correct programming errors, machine faults, and bending defects.
- Troubleshoot operational problems and carry out routine machine servicing and preventive maintenance.
- Coordinate with production and quality-control teams to ensure components meet required standards.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized production area.
