Commis De Cucina (Kitchen Assistant)

Qualifications:

• Male applicants preferred.
• Preferably 21–35 years old, subject to the employer’s requirements and applicable regulations.
• At least a high school graduate.
• Culinary training or a food preparation certificate is an advantage.
• At least 1–2 years of relevant experience as a Commis Chef or Kitchen Assistant in a hotel, resort, or restaurant.
• Experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel or resort is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
• Familiarity with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and proper food storage procedures.
• Hardworking, organized, attentive to detail, and willing to learn.
• Able to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods.
• Good communication skills in English; knowledge of Italian is an advantage.
• Willing to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Assist chefs and kitchen staff with daily food preparation and cooking activities.
• Wash, peel, cut, chop, and portion vegetables, fruits, meat, seafood, and other ingredients as required.
• Prepare basic ingredients, sauces, garnishes, and other components according to recipes and instructions.
• Measure ingredients and organize food items before cooking and service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, utensils, equipment, and preparation areas.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and proper food storage procedures.
• Check ingredient quality and freshness and report damaged, spoiled, or insufficient supplies.
• Store ingredients correctly and label food items according to kitchen procedures.
• Assist with receiving deliveries, organizing stock, and replenishing kitchen supplies when needed.
• Support chefs during busy service periods and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
• Follow instructions from senior chefs and comply with kitchen safety procedures.
• Perform other duties assigned by the chef or kitchen supervisor.
