CNC Lathe Programmer (Hydromat / Two-Machine Operation)

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of professional work experience.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Proven experience in CNC lathe programming, setup, and machining operations.
  • Experience with Hydromat or similar multi-station/multi-machine machining equipment is highly relevant to the position.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and machining specifications.
  • Knowledge of CNC programming principles, cutting tools, tooling selection, and machining parameters.
  • Ability to set tool offsets, work offsets, and machine parameters accurately.
  • Ability to perform two-machine operation while maintaining production quality and safety.
  • Strong understanding of precision machining and quality control procedures.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments to verify machined components and identify dimensional deviations.
  • Good mathematical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to precision workmanship.
  • Ability to troubleshoot programming, tooling, setup, and machining issues.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a manufacturing team.
  • Reliable, responsible, and safety-conscious approach to work.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, modify, and optimize CNC lathe programs according to technical drawings and production requirements.
  • Program machining operations for precision metal components using CNC lathes and related machining equipment.
  • Work with Hydromat equipment and support two-machine operation as required.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, dimensions, tolerances, machining specifications, and production instructions.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, tooling, workholding methods, and machining parameters.
  • Set up CNC lathes and machining equipment for production runs.
  • Load, verify, and test CNC programs before commencing full production.
  • Set tool offsets, work offsets, machine parameters, and other required settings.
  • Perform trial machining and make necessary program or machine adjustments to achieve required specifications.
  • Operate and monitor CNC machines during production to ensure stable and efficient machining.
  • Manage two-machine operations while maintaining productivity, accuracy, and safety.
  • Inspect finished components using appropriate measuring and inspection instruments.
  • Check dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, and overall product quality against technical specifications.
  • Identify and correct programming, tooling, setup, and machining problems.
  • Optimize machining sequences and cutting parameters to improve productivity and tool life.
  • Monitor tool wear and replace or adjust cutting tools when necessary.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of CNC machinery and machining processes.
  • Maintain accurate production, inspection, and machine-related records as required.
  • Work closely with machinists, toolmakers, engineers, quality personnel, and production supervisors.
  • Maintain CNC machines, tools, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
  • Follow manufacturing procedures, quality standards, and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Perform other CNC programming and machining duties assigned by management.
