Alduco Engineering Services is seeking a highly experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to serve as the technical authority for the entire electrical scope of the Onshore Electrical Turnaround (TAR) 2026 project in Equatorial Guinea. The successful candidate will oversee the technical integrity of electrical testing, commissioning, and protection systems while ensuring full compliance with project specifications, international engineering standards, and client requirements.

The Lead Electrical Engineer will act as the primary technical representative to the Client’s Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineering Team and provide leadership to electrical testing personnel throughout all project phases. This role requires extensive expertise in power systems, protection relay testing, medium- and high-voltage testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and electrical safety.

LEAD ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems preferred) or Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineering.
• Dual Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) background is highly preferred.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng), Professional Engineer (PE), Pr.Eng, or equivalent professional engineering registration is mandatory.
• Minimum of 12 years of Electrical Engineering experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience leading electrical testing, commissioning, and field engineering teams.
• Extensive experience in MV/HV electrical testing, commissioning, power system protection, and protection relay testing.
• Proven expertise in SEL relay configuration, protection coordination studies, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of electrical commissioning procedures, inspection standards, and quality assurance processes.
• Thorough understanding of NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, IEC standards, and other international electrical engineering codes.
• Experience working on major Turnaround (TAR), Shutdown, Brownfield, Greenfield, or EPC projects within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industries is highly preferred.
• Excellent leadership, technical decision-making, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in engineering software, protection relay testing equipment, Microsoft Office applications, and technical documentation systems.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical execution of the entire electrical testing and commissioning scope throughout all phases of the turnaround project.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison between Alduco Engineering Services and the Client’s E&I Engineering Team for engineering reviews, technical clarifications, and project coordination.
• Review, verify, and approve Test Quality Forms (TQFs), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Inspection Release Certificates (IRCs), commissioning reports, and other technical documentation.
• Lead protection relay testing and commissioning for critical electrical assets, including:
  • Main Incomers
  • Bus Couplers
  • Generator Protection Systems
  • Transformer Differential Protection
• Perform troubleshooting and technical analysis of electrical faults, protection relay issues, commissioning failures, and field anomalies.
• Review and validate SEL protection relay settings against the client’s protection coordination studies and document any discrepancies or recommendations.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and supervision to HV/MV Test Specialists, Protection Relay Technicians, and Electrical Commissioning Engineers.
• Ensure testing activities comply with applicable international standards and client specifications.
• Review arc flash studies, electrical hazard assessments, PPE requirements, and electrical safety boundaries in accordance with NFPA 70E and IEEE 1584.
• Verify compliance with electrical testing procedures, quality standards, and commissioning protocols.
• Review and provide final technical approval for the Turnaround (TAR) Close-Out Report and Manufacturer Records of Maintenance (MOM).
• Support project planning, scheduling, risk management, and technical decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as the Project Manager when required and provide technical leadership during critical project activities.
• Promote continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with company HSE policies and international electrical engineering standards.
