Planning Engineer
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience as a Planning Engineer, either local or abroad.
- Age limit: Up to 56 years old.
- Strong experience in construction planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and project coordination.
- Experience in planning and monitoring mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) works.
- Knowledge of construction schedules, work programs, look-ahead plans, critical path activities, and schedule control.
- Ability to interpret project drawings, specifications, construction schedules, and technical documents.
- Strong understanding of planned versus actual progress monitoring and schedule performance.
- Ability to identify project delays, risks, constraints, and potential schedule impacts.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with project managers, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and other construction teams.
- Experience in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and schedule updates.
- Ability to monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and other project resources.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting project deadlines.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Reliable, responsible, and capable of working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) works.
- Coordinate MEP activities with overall project construction schedules and milestones.
- Prepare work programs, activity schedules, look-ahead plans, and progress schedules.
- Review project drawings, specifications, scope of work, and construction requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, MEP engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and other project teams.
- Monitor the progress of MEP installation activities against approved schedules.
- Identify schedule delays, critical activities, constraints, and potential impacts on project completion.
- Recommend recovery plans and schedule adjustments to address delays and maintain project timelines.
- Track manpower, equipment, materials, and other resources required for MEP activities.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for MEP works.
- Update project schedules based on actual site progress and approved changes.
- Monitor critical path activities and identify potential bottlenecks affecting project delivery.
- Coordinate MEP material delivery schedules with procurement and site requirements.
- Follow up on shop drawings, material approvals, inspections, and other activities that may affect MEP progress.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and progress against approved work programs.
- Assist in preparing progress measurements, forecasts, and schedule performance reports.
- Maintain accurate records of planned versus actual progress.
- Participate in coordination and progress meetings and provide schedule updates and recommendations.
- Coordinate MEP works with civil, architectural, structural, and other construction activities to avoid conflicts and delays.
- Assist in evaluating the schedule impact of variations, design changes, and additional works.
- Ensure that MEP activities are planned in accordance with project specifications, quality requirements, and safety procedures.
- Identify potential risks and constraints that could affect MEP project schedules and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Support project management in achieving timely completion of MEP works and overall project milestones.
- Perform other planning, scheduling, coordination, and reporting duties assigned by management.
