Yard Gardener

Qualifications:

• At least a High School Graduate.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in gardening, landscaping, groundskeeping, or a similar maintenance role.
• Good practical knowledge of gardening, lawn care, landscaping, and general grounds maintenance.
• Experience operating tractor-driven lawn mowers, brush cutters, and other gardening and landscaping equipment.
• Ability to perform manual weeding, grass cutting, pruning, trimming, sweeping, and general outdoor cleaning.
• Knowledge of proper care and maintenance of plants, shrubs, hedges, lawns, and other greenery.
• Ability to perform winter maintenance tasks, including snow shoveling and applying salt to prevent slippery surfaces.
• Must possess a valid Category B driver’s license.
• Must have a valid passport.
• Must be able to communicate in English and understand work-related instructions.
• Physically fit, with sufficient stamina to perform manual labor and work outdoors for extended periods.
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions, including cold, rainy, and hot environments.
• Knowledge of safe equipment operation and proper workplace safety procedures.
• Dependable, organized, and capable of working independently or as part of a maintenance team.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and care for the hotel’s gardens, lawns, landscaped areas, and outdoor grounds.
• Perform manual weeding, brush cutting, grass trimming, sweeping, and general grounds cleaning.
• Mow lawns using tractor-driven lawn mowers and other appropriate gardening equipment.
• Trim, prune, and maintain plants, shrubs, hedges, trees, and other greenery.
• Conduct seasonal landscaping activities, including planting, soil preparation, and general garden upkeep.
• Perform winter maintenance duties such as snow shoveling, ice removal, and applying salt to pathways and driveways.
• Keep walkways, driveways, parking areas, entrances, and other outdoor spaces clean and safe for hotel guests and employees.
• Collect, remove, and properly dispose of fallen leaves, grass clippings, branches, and other garden waste.
• Operate gardening tools, machinery, and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Conduct routine inspections of outdoor areas and report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, or potential safety hazards.
• Assist with general outdoor maintenance and seasonal preparation of hotel grounds.
• Clean, inspect, and perform basic maintenance on gardening tools and equipment.
• Follow workplace safety procedures when operating machinery, handling materials, and performing outdoor maintenance tasks.
• Perform other related gardening, landscaping, and groundskeeping duties as assigned by the supervisor.
