Heavy Equipment Supervisor

Qualifications:

• Must have Certified Trade Qualification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Diesel Fitter
• Minimum of years (10) years post Apprenticeship experience.
• Experience with Earth Moving Equipment such as, Haul Trucks, Excavators, Dozers, Wheel loaders, and Generators which must be Caterpillar and Cummins Equipment.
• Must be able to commit to 15 weeks onsite and 3 weeks offsite roster on Motukea Island Papua New Guinea.
• Must be able to work 0700 to 1700 hours per day Monday to Friday and 0700 to 1700 hours Saturday, 120 hours per fortnight.
• Must have safety focused attitude.
• Must be able to follow safety protocols and all Curtain Bros Group and CBPNG Environment, Health, Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Excellent English language skills; reading, writing, and speaking and be able to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels.
• High level organisation and time management.
• Must have interpersonal skills with work colleagues
• Must be able to work and communicate in a multi-cultural environment
• Salary is negotiable in accordance with qualification and experience

Responsibilities:

• Supervision: Lead and manage the CBW Team, including delegating tasks, scheduling work, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met
• Diagnostics and repair: Troubleshoot and fix complex issues involving diesel engines (Caterpillar and Cummins), recondition engines, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and mechanical systems
• Preventative maintenance: Oversee and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and extend machinery lifespan
• Component overhauls: Supervise or perform major engine and component overhauls, such as on transmissions, differentials, and undercarriages.
• Record keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
• Resource management: Order parts and requisition materials needed for repairs
• Training and development: Mentor and train junior mechanics and apprentices, enhancing the overall capabilities of the team
