DUCT FABRICATOR

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience as a Duct Fabricator, Sheet Metal Fabricator, or similar role.
• Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in Others or a related technical field.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC duct fabrication, installation, and sheet metal works.
• Experience using fabrication equipment such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, welding machines, saws, cutting torches, pipe cutters, threading machines, and bending machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications.
• Familiarity with materials including carbon steel, galvanized iron, stainless steel, aluminum, PVC, and CPVC.
• Knowledge of basic pipe systems, pipe supports, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual fabrication and installation work.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair HVAC ductwork, sheet metal components, and ventilation systems according to engineering drawings and project specifications.
• Measure, mark, cut, bend, shape, and assemble sheet metal and duct sections using appropriate fabrication tools and equipment.
• Lay out and fabricate duct systems for air distribution, exhaust, and ventilation applications.
• Install duct supports, hangers, brackets, and related components to ensure proper system alignment and stability.
• Operate fabrication equipment such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, routers, welding machines, saws, pipe cutters, cutting torches, threading machines, and bending machines safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and material specifications to ensure accurate production.
• Work with a variety of materials, including galvanized iron, stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel, PVC, CPVC, and other metallic and non-metallic materials.
• Inspect fabricated components for dimensional accuracy and quality before installation.
• Perform repairs, modifications, and maintenance on existing duct systems and related components.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Follow company procedures and workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
• Perform other fabrication and installation duties assigned by supervisors.
