Emdad Human Resources Company is seeking an experienced Welding Inspector to inspect welding activities and welded components and ensure compliance with applicable welding codes, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards. The successful candidate will verify that welding work meets Ministry of Defense requirements through inspection, testing, quality control, and proper documentation.

Applicants with CWI, CSWIP 3.1, or equivalent certification, strong knowledge of international welding codes, and experience with NDT coordination are encouraged to apply.

Welding Inspector

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Technical Certificate in Welding Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Welding Inspector in a manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy industrial environment.
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), CSWIP 3.1, or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of SMAW, GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), FCAW, and SAW welding processes.
  • Strong understanding of welding codes and standards such as AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, ISO 3834, or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, WPS, PQR, and WQRs.
  • Experience with visual inspection and coordination of VT, PT, MT, UT, and RT.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring and inspection instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication, documentation, and reporting skills.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect welding activities and completed welds to ensure compliance with approved specifications and quality standards.
  • Verify welding work against engineering drawings, welding symbols, technical specifications, and approved procedures.
  • Review WPS, PQR, and Welder Qualification Records (WQRs) for compliance with project requirements.
  • Perform visual inspection of welded components and identify defects or discontinuities.
  • Coordinate and monitor NDT activities, including VT, PT, MT, UT, and RT.
  • Verify that welding procedures and welder qualifications comply with applicable standards.
  • Monitor welding activities to ensure adherence to approved procedures and specifications.
  • Use precision measuring and inspection instruments to verify weld quality and dimensions.
  • Identify non-conformities and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports, quality records, and other required documentation.
  • Coordinate with welders, fabricators, engineers, quality personnel, and project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with AWS, ASME, ISO, and other applicable welding standards.
  • Verify compliance with Ministry of Defense requirements and project quality standards.
  • Maintain strict safety and quality standards during all inspection activities.
